THE GEORGIA TRANSPORTATION SUMMIT IS NOW A 2-DAY EVENT!

The Georgia Transportation Summit is held annually and Co-Hosted by ACEC Georgia and the Georgia Department of Transportation. Drawing more than 1,600 in attendance, this event features transportation industry leaders, local and state elected and appointed officials, state agency leadership, and transportation professionals from every modality. This 2-day event will feature presentations from the leaders of GDOT, MARTA, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Georgia Ports Authority, and the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality (GPTQ) Awards, and afternoon breakout sessions led by GDOT and other industry leaders.

Project managers and younger professionals: Wednesday afternoon is built with you in mind.

The 2026 Georgia Transportation Summit expands to two days, adding a Wednesday half-day with 22 additional breakout sessions, including an entire track specifically for project managers and younger professionals from GDOT and consulting engineering firms. 

Wednesday also offers practical training that everyone can benefit from!

Wednesday also offers practical training focused on improving quality, strengthening constructability, and delivering transportation programs more efficiently—with insights you can bring directly to your next project. This includes several four-hour, in-depth training sessions on Open Roads Design (ORD), NEPA Assignment, NPDES Level 2 Recertification, and Earthworks training. 

Thursday Breakouts: Even more practical training for everyone!

Return Thursday for the Summit’s traditional General Session presentations from state agency heads and 10 breakout sessions, along with more opportunities to connect with peers and transportation leaders from across Georgia.

GDOT Board Meeting: 

The State Transportation Board (GDOT Board) will hold its November Board Meeting on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the Parthenon Room at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. GDOT Board meetings are open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.   

College Student Information: 

The “Engineering the Built Environment 101: College Student Welcome Session” will be on Wednesday from 12:30-1:15 pm in the Parthenon Room. The “College Student Resume Review Session” will be from 1:30-2pm in Grand Hall 8 (Dining Hall) and the “College Student Meet & Greet with Exhibitors” will be from 2-2:30pm in the Exhibit Hall.
