The Technology Task Force is focused on providing Georgia's engineering industry leaders with the most up-to-date information and best practices that will equip them to navigate their firms through the exponential changes resulting from rapid technological advances, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the automation of engineering processes. Task Force members explore both how these advances will change the way engineering is done as well as the significant impact these changes will have on engineering industry business models.
The Task Force is providing a series of consultant-led OpenRoads trainings. The goal of these training sessions is to provide specific guidance and updates about how GDOT’s configurations change OpenRoads. They are intended to be State-specific and are not general software training.
The Technology Task Force delivered 6 training modules in 2022. You can access these training sessions on the ACEC Georgia Technology Task Force page HERE.
This month's session will be on the following topic. Topic: Modules 7 & 8 - ORD Components, Templates, and Corridor Creation
This session will describe the GDOT customizations as they apply to Feature Definition, Symbology, Item Types, Breaklines, and Meshes. It will also introduce Corridor Creation and the generation of 3D geometry from templates. The primary focus of the session will be GDOT's requirements as it pertains to the electronic data guidelines.
